Service Provider Commission
The mission of the NDT Service Provider Commission, the Professional Organisation for NDTE Service Providers (OPpend), is to:
- Defend the interests of the NDE profession by ensuring its independence;
- Represent the NDT profession;
- Encourage interchanges between the NDT players;
- Enhance and promote the brand image of NDT professions.
This commission has nearly forty members of the Service Providers college. They run the organisation with the support of a restricted Executive Committee comprising seven members.
The actions undertaken by the OPpend since 2013 relate mainly to EDF’s “Great Streamlining” project.
This large-scale project to extend the lifetime of the EDF nuclear power plants will generate a huge demand for NDT personnel in the years to come and an appropriate initial and on-going training programme will be required.
